Horse Racing has long been a family affair in the Scurry household, attending most Saturdays as a child in Melbourne, and now twice a week in Sydney as a professional mounting yard analyst for The Mailbag.

“In mid-2019 I was in a bad spot for the service. I came to the realisation that a lifetime of observing horses pre-race was still not enough to win consistently. I had to get a process and be consistent. With the help of Jack and The Mailbag team, I've now got that settled. On a Sunday morning, you're likely to find me: “up too early playing 8AM Club tennis, sweating out my Saturday night over indulgence. That's followed by a trip down to my beloved Maroubra beach with the kids to recover from the game and relax with the family.”

Pete 'Pistol' Anthonisz can be found leaning on mounting yard fences around the country, but was born and bred in Perth. Over the last 14 years, Pistol has been a racehorse owner, yard watcher, presenter on Sky Racing and TAB Radio in Perth, administrator and has finally settled as a pro-punter and analyst.

As a former physio, he prides himself on having the most comprehensive mounting yard approach nationwide (his own words). With Pistol, you can expect a mounting yard report on every runner on the day when he's in WA, whilst betting around the traps as he sees fit!

On a Sunday morning, you're likely to find me: “usually watching Insiders/Offsiders on the ABC, no matter how hungover or exhausted I am. It's a particular point of contention with previous girlfriends and housemates over the years.”

If you've been around the racing traps for the past decade or so, you have probably encountered Dicko. Whether you heard him roaring home a winner from the top of the Flemington grandstand, spotted him in the mounting yard at Caulfield talking tactics with Willo in the Mailbag Bloodstock silks, or simply saw him that one time on Jack Irish leaning up against a pole at Kyneton; Dicko has increasingly found himself part of the racing landscape in Melbourne. Not bad for a boy from Sydney.

Dicko got the ball rolling at The Mailbag. His own baby, he started his own Mounting Yard Mail service, which quickly expanded with the acquisition of Rob and Pistol. After a break from the service setting up Mailbag Bloodstock, he has returned to where it all began. His Rated Prices is in-depth, up to the minute and ever-evolving. 

We're never sure what the future holds for Dicko, but rest assured, he'll be taking The Mailbag along for the ride!
