Mailbag News
We’re providing a new level of commitment and quality for our products. We are putting more time in to the analysis, development and execution of our products, and we’re confident the level of results will only further improve as the good horse and weather return in spring.
What’s happening?
As we enter a new racing season, we’re rebranding our Victorian based products to bring them under a new tier system. The reasoning behind this is simple: rather than having potentially overlapping products, we’re bringing them under the same roof and combining them to maximise our strategy and profits.
What does this look like?
The products will be familiar to those who have been on board with us previously, but we’ve decided to tailor them more to when punters want to do the bulk of their betting: that is, early, late or both! Our Rated Prices service led by Jack Dickens, combined with our revamped Mounting Yard Mail in Melbourne with Pete Anthonisz, has seen good early results for those betting both, and we want to make this the norm going forward.
Bronze Tier: Melbourne Mounting Yard Mail (formerly The Grouse)
The base entry to The Mailbag, but in no way the least, it's a perfect set for those betting race-to-race on a Wednesday or Saturday on Victorian racing.
Get access to a late mail staking plan 5 mins prior to every race on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This will include a recap of any early bets The Mailbag team has made, plus their late updates and recommended staking. You will also get a full mounting yard report on each runner for metropolitan meetings. The pack will also include a morning recap of any bets made at the provincials, PLUS mounting yard mail for any Group 1 meetings at Moonee Valley throughout the season.
Please note: this product does not include any early bets prior to the day. That feature is reserved for our Silver and Gold tiers. This is also the product that will continue to form part of the Platinum Pack and Saturday 3-Pack.
Silver Tier: Melbourne Rated Prices (formerly Dicko’s Mailbag)
For those who like to bet early, take the best odds available and check the results as they come through, this is the pack for you!
Including early bets, often before the day, for the Wednesday and Saturday metropolitan meetings, plus any provincial meetings during the week, this is the plan for those wanting the best early odds or those who are time poor during the day. Wednesday and Saturday meetings, plus feature Friday night meetings at Moonee Valley will include The Mailbag's Rated Prices, a comprehensive preview of the card with the staking plan, full units and runner comments included. Access to our private Preview and Review Zoom meetings is also included, as is Lindsay Bowles’ Trial Reports and Blackbookers.
Please note: this product does not include any late bets or updates from the mounting yard. Those features are exclusive to our Bronze and Gold tiers.
Gold Tier: The Mailbag Victoria (new product)
Combining the two lower tiers, this is the premium product for those serious about Victorian racing!
Included are Rated Prices, Mounting Yard Mail, early bets across any meeting from Wednesday-to-Sunday, plus: exclusive access to The Mailbag team in their own private Discord channel; Lindsay’s Trial Reports and Blackbookers; and access to our Preview and Review Zoom meetings.
It's a full-time job following the racing in Victoria. Join the only team that provides full access for our punters.
What happens next?
The launch for the new tiered system will be for the first week of August. There is a couple of price changes that will be occurring as we enter the new season, but these will only apply to new subscriptions. Anyone on the old pricing scheme will continue to receive this price as long as the subscription does:
What does Spring have in-store?
We look forward to providing more information to racing fans and form students alike. Our new blog on the website will provide our own insights on the game, starting with the basics behind Mounting Yard Mail. The return of the Preview Show on both YouTube and our podcast stream is nearly upon us, with select Review Recordings (currently exclusive to Silver and Gold members) will be made public.
We will have some more promotions and specials, some exclusive for our Discord community, so make sure you’re part of the team if wanting to capitalise on those!
But most of all, we’re providing a new level of commitment and quality for our products. We are putting more time in to the analysis, development and execution of our products, and we’re confident the level of results will only further improve as the good horse and weather return in spring.
Whether you’re a new or returning member, if you haven’t tried us out of late, our new tiers will give you something to check out!
Mounting Yard Mail (MYM) could be called many things: yard analysis, equine behavioural assessment, horse watching. The principle is simple.
The first thing to understand is that apart from the Highway races (country races held on city tracks) most horses present in very good order, ready to race at the Sydney metros. There really are no bad horses.
Since returning to the mounting yard full-time in Victoria, my goal has been to try and evaluate everything that I do with the sole purpose of not needing to do the form again.
